`In cooperation with Mount Washington’s Nordic ski program, these students were given the opportunity to leave their classrooms and get outdoors, strap on a pair of skis and experience some of what the Resort has to offer.
Morson said he has talked to teachers who also look forward to bringing their students to the Vancouver Island Mountain Centre for outdoor educational opportunities in an alpine setting.
With Raven Lodge, the Mountain Centre, Strathcona Wilderness Institute’s Visitors’ Centre and the trailhead into Strathcona Provincial Park all situated in one area, a new focal point is well established at the Resort.
“It’s exceeded what I thought it would be,’ says Morson.
